King Abdullah II Receives Norwegian Foreign Minister, Discusses Regional Developments and Bilateral Ties

His Majesty King Abdullah II on Monday welcomed Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide at Al Husseiniya Palace, in a meeting that highlighted the strong and longstanding relations between Jordan and Norway.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II was also present during the meeting.

Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors, reflecting the shared commitment of both nations to strengthening diplomatic, economic, and development ties.

The leaders also reviewed the latest developments in the region. His Majesty reaffirmed Jordan’s unwavering position on the need to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution. He underscored the urgency of intensifying international efforts to immediately halt the war on Gaza and ensure the continuous delivery of humanitarian aid to affected civilians.

The talks also addressed unilateral Israeli measures in the West Bank and Jerusalem, along with ongoing developments in Syria, expressing concern over their impact on regional stability.

Also in attendance were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, and Norwegian Ambassador to Jordan Mona Juul.
